Forming the bubble on the electrode before attaching a straight piece of glass tubing. It first gets heated with a small rotary torch to soften the glass. Then a super heated aluminum mould comes up and a bubble is blown out in the lower part of the electrode with low pressure nitrogen pumped thru the tubulation in the electrode. The mould has to be hot so it won’t crack the glass and uses a pair of cartridge heaters installed in each half of the mould to keep it hot. Done in slow motion because
