Last weekend our Marine Mammal rescue team in British Columbia worked with Cetus Research and Conservation Society to remove over 500 feet of fishing gear from a juvenile humpback whale entangled off the East coast of Vancouver Island. This operation was successful in part due to the many reports from the public of sightings of the active whale swimming along the coast.
