The Mountaineer Battle Wagon was the pride of the American fleet before World War II. The mighty USS West Virginia was over 600 feet long and had eight giant 16 inch guns. On December 7th, 1941, the West Virginia was struck by two bombs and seven torpedos. The battleship sank in 40 feet of water and over 100 of her crewmen perished.
