Memphis Minnie (born Lizzie Douglas, June 3, 1897 – August 6, 1973) was a pioneering blues guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose career spanned over three decades. Born in Algiers, Louisiana, she grew up in Walls, Mississippi, and started playing guitar at age 11. By 13, she was performing on Beale Street in Memphis as "Kid Douglas." She toured with the Ringling Brothers Circus and later became a key figure in the Chicago blues scene, recording around 200 songs, including hits like "Bumble B
