“My name is Katie Karie, I am a new intervention specialist in a K-4 structured support classroom. This is my 12th year in public, special education and I have taught in 4 different states, which has given me a pretty unique insight into special education. I teach (and LOVE teaching) students with moderate to severe disabilities. Our classroom is pretty different from most elementary school rooms. While we do work on reading, writing, and math, we also need to develop self regulation, communicat
