Financial technology company PayPal Holdings (PYPL) is allowing merchants in the U.S. to Buy, Hold, and Sell a variety of cryptocurrencies as it seeks to expand its offerings.

PayPal introduces cryptocurrency services for U.S. business clients, allowing them to buy, hold, and sell crypto directly from their accounts.

Payments giant PayPal Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) unveiled its plan to extend cryptocurrency services to U.S. business account holders, with the exception of New York State.

PayPal is launching a new service to allow the businesses that use its platform to buy, hold and sell crypto. Although the company already allowed its PayPal and Venmo users with consumer accounts to use bitcoin and other virtual coins via its online wallets,

PayPal Holdings announced on Wednesday it is enabling U.S. merchants to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrency from their business accounts. Cryptocurrency has moved from being a nascent asset class towards greater market acceptance after bitcoin exchange traded funds were approved for listing by the U.

PayPal Holdings Inc. will now permit merchants to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrency from their business accounts, expanding on the payments firm’s already-available consumer offerings.

After letting its retail users do the same via PayPal and Venmo accounts for several years now, the company also saw demand from business owners to buy, hold and sell crypto, the
