Pope Francis is in good spirits, eating normally and continuing to receive treatment, Vatican sources have said.
Many who know him said that Francis, driven by a sense of mission and a discipline born of his early training, essentially worked himself into the hospital.
Pope Francis was admitted to hospital on February 14 after experiencing difficulties breathing for several days.
On Wednesday, the Vatican said Pope Francis “had a tranquil night, woke up and had breakfast,” saying he was in good spirits.
