Baseball legend Ryne Sandberg has sadly passed away at 65 after battling metastatic prostate cancer. Diagnosed in January 2024, he initially showed signs of recovery, but the cancer returned and spread.

Sandberg was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2024, and had been battling the disease since. He spent 15 of his 16 MLB seasons with the Cubs, and he earned All-Star nods in 10 consecutive seasons, from 1984-93.

The Hall of Fame second baseman won an NL MVP award and earned 10 all-star selections as one of Chicago’s all-time greats.
