Senior AAP leader Atishi was administered oath as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Saturday

Delhi is set to welcome Atishi as its new Chief Minister following Arvind Kejriwal's prohibition from office due to the alleged liquor scam. Atishi, a senior AAP leader, will be the third woman to hold this position in Delhi.

New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former minister in the Delhi government Atishi Singh on Saturday, 21 September 2024 took oath as the 8th Chief Minister of Delhi following the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal. Atishi was administered oath by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena in a low-key event.

Along with her, five other ministers of AAP were sworn in and will be part of Delhi’s cabinet. These include Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat

AAP leader Atishi is set to become the 17th woman chief minister in the country and the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi after she takes oath on Saturday.

CM-designate Atishi is going to take the oath of office and secrecy at Raj Niwas on Saturday evening. She will be administered the oath by lieutenant governor VK Saxena. Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu appointed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi as the Chief Minister of National Capital Territory Delhi,

Atishi will take the oath as the CM along with her new Council of Ministers at 4:30 pm at Raj Niwas, officials said.
