Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers said Sunday that he won’t need surgery and expects to be ready for spring training, a day after he was placed on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation.

Rafael Devers will avoid surgery on his left shoulder, manager Alex Cora said Sunday morning ahead of the Sox’ split doubleheader against the Twins. Devers underwent an MRI on his left shoulder, which revealed inflammation. His right shoulder has also been bothering him, but the left has caused the most issues.
