That extra period remained close, but Oklahoma City had the chance to salvage the win down one with 22 seconds left, and the Thunder had the ball. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander beat Nickeil Alexander-Walker off the dribble, got in the lane for the lay-up to take the lead — and Anthony Edwards came flying in for the block.
According to Edwards himself, the game-saving feat occurred despite an injury. The Timberwolves star was caught on camera celebrating the victory as he walked through the bowels of the Paycom Center.
While Edwards struggled in the contest and shot 5-of-15 from the field for 17 points along with 13 rebounds and eight assists, he definitely stepped up when it mattered most. The NBA, for its part, shared a slow-motion video of Ant-Man's clutch defensive stop, which drew plenty of reactions from fans.
