The first World Series was held in 1903. In 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers triumphed over the New York Yankees to win the World Series. Freddie Freeman was named series MVP. In 2025, the Dodgers made their way back to MLB's biggest stage versus the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Los Angeles Dodgers (+350 at BetMGM) are the clear favorites to win next year's World Series after clinching the 2025 championship on Saturday night.

Before the 2025 Dodgers came along, it had been a quarter century since a team won consecutive World Series titles. Over that same span, the NFL saw two teams win two Super Bowls in a row, and four teams won at least two NBA Finals in a row.

The answer is: The Dodgers won their second straight, becoming the first time since 2000 (the New York Yankees did it then) to repeat as World Series champions and denying the Blue Jays their first ring in 32 years. The Blue Jays were up 4-3 in the ninth inning when Miguel Rojas hit a dinger to tie it up.
