OHIO — The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) has provided an update on SNAP benefits. After receiving guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), the department said Ohioans will get their full SNAP benefits for November.
Since the longest government shutdown in U.S. history ended on Nov. 12, the Illinois Department of Human Services said in a press release they anticipate remaining benefit payments will be made in coming days, with all SNAP recipients receiving their full November benefits by Nov. 20.
Back when SNAP benefits were delayed, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds announced the state would match up to $1 million in private donations to food banks. And the state says Iowa’s six food banks have successfully met that goal.
Utahns who normally receive their SNAP benefits on the 5th or 11th of each month missed those payments, but the state said they will receive their deposits beginning Friday.
With the end of the federal shutdown, those who get Louisiana SNAP benefits will see their full benefit amount. The elderly and disabled will see a little extra in November.
Many Americans who rely on SNAP benefits to help buy groceries are approaching their third week without aid after President Donald Trump’s administration cut off the program amid the federal government shutdown.
