By Brendan O'Boyle MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum promised on Sunday there would be justice for the brazen murder of a local mayor, Carlos Manzo, an outspoken critic of organized crime who had called on the government to do more to protect him and others.
Carlos Manzo was attacked shortly after 8 p.m. and later died from his injuries at a hospital, officials said.
Carlos Manzo, a mayor in the state of Michoacán, had repeatedly asked President Claudia Sheinbaum for more resources. He was shot outside a church.
