Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Saturday the news on Juan Soto was “mixed,” which is a whole lot better than the worst possible case a day after the franchise cornerstone strained his right calf while running the bases in New York's 10-3 win over the Giants.
Soto saw his night come to an end less than one inning into the Mets' tilt against San Francisco on Friday, pulling up lame after attempting to take first-to-third on Bo Bichette Jr.'s single. Soto was immediately removed from the contest, replaced by pinch-runner Tyrone Taylor.
