K INGSFORD, Mich. (WLUC) - As travelers waited to board a flight to Minneapolis at Ford Airport Wednesday morning, airport officials said ridership has been higher than normal for the fall, despite national shortages of air traffic controllers following the federal government shutdown.
The Federal Aviation Administration plans to slash airline capacity at dozens of U.S. airports because of the ongoing government shutdown, including Minneapolis-St. Paul International, according to a proposed list provided to CBS News by a source familiar with the discussions.
