Creators of hit video game Black Myth: Wukong announce sequel featuring legendary ghost slayer Zhong Kui
A near-two-minute teaser trailer featured the titular character Zhong Kui, a deity in Chinese mythology traditionally regarded as a vanquisher of ghosts and evil beings. He is often portrayed as a towering figure with a big black beard, bulging eyes and a wrathful expression.
Black Myth Zhong Kui announced as next project from Black Myth Wukong creators at Gamescom
Game Science has announced its next project, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025. The studio, best known for Black Myth: Wukong, revealed the title as the closing announcement of the event. The new action RPG will once again be inspired by Chinese folklore, this time centred on Zhong Kui, a mythical ghost hunter.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui might not be the only Wukong sequel in development, according to leaks
With that being said, the Black Myth: Zhong Kui trailer has been revealed at the Gamescom event 2025. This indicates that the developers are well prepared to launch the sequence of titles.
