The drummer did not give a reason for his departure after nearly 30 years from the Grammy Award-winning rock group.

Drummer Matt Cameron has left Pearl Jam after 27 years. He is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, also being inducted with Soundgarden this year.

Cameron, 62, announced his decision Monday on social media. He saluted his Pearl Jam band mates, which include two former San Diegans — lead singer Eddie Vedder and lead guitarist Mike McCready — bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard.
