The Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Attorney General's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Saturday evening. At around 7:45 p.m., officers with the Montgomery County Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Janet Road in Wheaton for a reported assault.

The man had an object and did not comply with commands after an alleged assault on the 3400 block of Janet Road, police said.
